Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea Blend
Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea Blend is a wonderful aid for those who have problems falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night (especially those with anxiety or insomnia). This blend is carefully crafted with chamomile which contains a strong antioxidant compound called apigenin that binds to GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors in the central nervous system to create a sedative like state in the body which reduces anxiety and induces sleep; passion flower to help quickly induce the onset of sleep and lengthen the slow-wave-sleep (SWS) stage of the sleep cycle which improves sleep quality; lemon balm to help soothe symptoms of anxiety, stress, and stabilize mood as well as improve digestion; linden leaf & flower to help fight pain and inflammation in the body and decrease levels of anxiety to promote sleep; lemon verbena to help relieve stomach cramps and pains, improve digestion, and relieve stress and nervousness; fennel to help soothe the gastrointestinal system to alleviate bloating, gas, cramps, and poor digestion; calendula flowers for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties to fight infections, reduce free radicals in the body, and lower stress levels.
This herbal tea blend is caffeine free and is great to drink at night at least 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to bedtime to allow the herbs time to settle in the bloodstream and relax the mind and body before falling asleep.
What's Included: 45 grams of tea (3 grams or 1 tablespoon per tea serving). Each serving of tea can yield 1-3 cups of tea but typically only 1 cup is needed for the purposes of this blend.
Ingredients: Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata), Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Linden Flower (Tilia argentum), Lemon Verbena (Aloysia triphylla), Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), Calendula Flowers & Petals (Calendula officinalis).
Directions for Use: DO NOT BOIL HERBS WITH WATER!! Boiling the herbs will release too many tannins at once, causing the tea to be overly bitter. Instead, boil 2-4 cups of spring water separately while you prepare 1-2 tablespoons of herbs in the provided tea ball infuser. Place tea ball infuser in a large glass pot, pitcher or cup, pour boiling water over your herbs, and allow tea to steep and cool for at least 5 minutes. To enjoy a cold brew simply add the cooled mixture (or fresh spring water) into a glass bottle or pitcher, place in the fridge, and allow tea ball infuser to steep for 2-6 hours for a deeper flavor infusion. Add raw agave or date syrup, if needed, and enjoy!
